General Wiring Diagram
Below is a typical Accuview wiring diagram. The autoswitch is the hub for the entire setup. The POS Terminal connects to the DB25 POS connector, the OCB (Order Confirmation Board) connects to the RJ12 port labled OCB, and the Manager Work Station connects to the DB9 PC port.

Accuview Configuration
Setup
- Connect the register to the Accuview autoswitch as described in the section of this manual titled Accuview Cabling.
- Connect the Backoffice computer to the Accuview autoswitch as described in the section of this artcle titled Wiring Configurations.
- Open the TSWand application.
- Open The Initfile Setup and locate the line controlling the port to which the Accuview autoswitch is connected. Enter the Device ID of 14 into this field.
- Locate line 6: Score board associated with register. For each register field enter the number of the register to which the Accuview autoswitch is connected.
- Go into a command prompt, open the ssci.mdb database, open tblScoreboard, and be sure that the last column is set to 14
- Close the database
Backoffice Configuration The Accuview has two versions of the software available on the Backoffice computer, one which is DOS-based. The other version is based upon WinCE. The DOS-based configuration software has a gray icon, and the WinCE-based software has a color icon. The WinCE utility is called AccuVIEW. The instructions for the WinCE version follow:
Connecting to the OCS
- Select Communications from the Tools menu.
- For communication with Backoffice computer, select the COM port to which the Accuview autoswitch is attached.
- Indicate the speed at which communication is to take place. Communication with the display - whether directly or through a modem – which normally takes place at 9600 baud.
- To connect, select OK then select the Display button.
Setting the Time
- Make sure that the date and time are correct on the Backoffice computer
- Start the AccuVIEW software
- Select Date & Time from the Display menu. The software will automatically retrieve the date and time from the PC.
- If necessary, change the date. The date is made up of four elements: day, month, date, and year. To change an element, click on it and use the spin control or arrow keys to move forward or backward.
Adding an Image
- Select Setup from the Display menu.
- Double-click the name of the display you want to use.
- Select the Images tab.
- Click the Add button. A file selection window will appear.
- Double-click the name of the image file you want to select.
- To select multiple images, hold the CTRL key while single-clicking,
- When finished selecting, click the Open button.
- Click Upload to save the file list and upload it to the display.
Removing an Image
- Select Setup from the Display menu.
- Double-click the name of the display you want to use.
- Select the Images tab.
- Select the image(s) you want to remove from the display. Hold the CTRL key while selecting multiple images.
- Click the Delete button.
- If the image was in use, you will need to refresh the schedule saved in the display.
- Select the Schedules or Side Schedules tab, as appropriate.
- Click the Upload button.
Accuview TroubleshootingAccuview Troubleshooting Symptoms: Accuview OCS is dark This may indicate a power problem Use procedure: Accuview Power. Display is working, but total becomes ‘stuck’ This indicates either a communication or configuration problem Use procedure: Accuview Comm, Accuview Config
Accuview Troubleshooting Procedures:
Accuview Comm
- Make sure the proper program is install on the system
- Software is configured properly
- Serial cable between Backoffice computer and Accuview autoswitch is connected as described in the Cabling section.
- Check that the COM port to which the serial cable is connected is enabled in the BIOS.
- Power-cycle Accuview autoswitch
- Replace cable between Backoffice computer and Accuview autoswitch
- Restart Backoffice computer
Accuview Power
- Confirm that the circuit-breaker for that outside circuit has not tripped.
- Power-off outside display by unplugging it from the post
- Test outside power-supply with some other electrical device.
- Some power-supplies are hard-wired, this is easily found out by confirming if there is no 120VAC sticker.
Accuview Cabling
- Verify that the cables and all the adapters and handshakes in the cable assemblies are seated securely.
Accuview Config
- Check the settings in TSWand as described in the Accuview Configuration section of this manual. Make sure that these settings are as they should be.
- On the Backoffice computer, start the AccuVIEW software
- Click on the Communications button.
- Change COM port from NULL to COM1
- Exit the Communications screen by clicking on the OK button
- Click on Display Properties button.
- Select and Modify the display
- If unable to connect, use procedure: Accuview Communication.
- If able to connect, confirm that microcode version on main tab is 4.2
- Confirm that command set is "Native command set" (Accuview I) or "64 Wand" (Accuview II)
- Go to Utilities tab
- Select "Send Command" button
- If it wasn't on native command set, send command "dp00" (Accuview I) or "sm64" (Accuview II). If software freezes, endtask it and restart the AccuVIEW software.
- Power-cycle the Accuview OCS
- In the AccuVIEW software, return to Send Command screen.
- Go to Utilities tab.
- Select Send Command button
- Send command: "dox" (dee, oh, small-ex) (Accuview I only)
- Exit back to main screen and use the exit button to close the program
- If modem was disconnected in step 1, reconnect it.
- Power cycle the OCS.
