Delphi Configuration

Setup

  1. Connect the register to the Delphi autoswitch as described in the section of this manual titled Delphi Cabling.
  2. Connect the Backoffice computer to the Delphi autoswitch as described in the section of this manual titled Delphi Cabling.
  3. On the Register which is connected to the Delphi autoswitch, Open the TSWand application.
    1. Open The Initfile Setup and locate the line controlling the port to which the Delphi autoswitch is connected. Enter the Device ID of 15 in this field.
    2. Locate line 6: Score board associated with register. For each register field enter the number of the register to which the Delphi autoswitch is connected.
  4. Open the SSCI.mdb database and place a value of 15 into the last column of the tblScoreboard table.
  5. Close the database.

Backoffice Configuration

Delphi uses a utility called OCSConfigTool to manage the OCS data.

Connecting to the OCS

To connect to the Delphi OCS, do the following:

  1. Start the OCSConfigTool utility.
  2. Click on the Direct Connection button to establish the connection.

Setting the Time

  1. Click on the System Configuration button
  2. On the Settings tab, set the date and time values as desired (use 24-hour time format.)
  3. Click the Set button.
  4. Click the OK button.
  5. Click on the Status button to verify the change.

Adding an image

Before an image can be saved to the OCS, it must first be uploaded to the Backoffice computer and placed in the following directory: C:\Program Files\OCS CS Configuration Tool\OCS\Images. Once this has been done, do the following:

  1. Click on the Retrieve OCS Data button.
  2. Click on the Dayparts button.
  3. In the Select Dayparts dialog, choose the daypart to be modified.
  4. Click Modify in the Available Daypart Images section of the Define Dayparts dialog.
  5. Click on the image to be added to the daypart and click the Add button.
  6. Click the OK button.
  7. When finished, click OK to close the Define Daypart and Dayparts dialogs.
  8. Click the Update Remote OCS button to display the Update dialog.
  9. In the Update dialog, check only the OCSSystem.ocd, daypart (.dpt) and image files to be added, and then click Update Now.

Removing an Image

  1. Click on the Retrieve OCS Data button.
  2. Click on the Dayparts button.
  3. Choose the Select Dayparts tab.
  4. Select the image to be removed.
  5. Click the Remove button.
  6. Click OK to close the Select Dayparts tab.
  7. Click the Update Remote OCS button to display the Update dialog.
  8. In the Update dialog, check only the OCSSystem.ocd, daypart (.dpt) and image files to be added
  9. Click the Update Now button.

Delphi Troubleshooting

The Delphi autoswitch has a series of lights which illuminate due to activity on the serial connections. These lights are powered through the connections themselves and do not indicate that the autoswitch is powered-on. The only light which indicates power on the switch is the Auto light at the upper right corner of the autoswitch (opposite the OCS port.)

Delphi Troubleshooting Symptoms:

Orders not appearing on the Delphi OCS

This may indicate either a communication problem or a configuration problem

Use procedure:

  • Delphi Comm,
  • Delphi Config,
  • Delphi Cabling
Auto light on Autoswitch not flashing

This may indicate that the Delphi autoswitch does not have power

Use procedure:

  • Delphi Power.

Delphi Troubleshooting Procedures

Delphi Power
  1. Confirm that the circuit-breaker for that outside circuit has not tripped.
  2. Power-off outside display by unplugging it from the post
  3. Test outside power-supply with some other electrical device.
    1. If test (3-a) fails, then the outside power-supply is the problem.
  4. Check autoswitch to see if the Auto light is flashing.
    1. If not, power-cycle the Delphi autoswitch.
    2. The Auto light should flash on power-up.
    3. If test (4-b) fails, Delphi autoswitch is probably bad
  5. Press the Test button on the Delphi autoswitch.
    1. If the Pass light illuminates, the unit passes.
    2. If not, the autoswitch may require replacement.
  6. Press the Reset button on the Delphi autoswitch.
Delphi cabling
  1. Verify that the cables and all the adapters and handshakes in the cable assemblies are seated securely.
Delphi Config
  1. Check the settings in TSWand as described in the Delphi Configuration section of this manual. Make sure that these settings are as they should be.
  2. Check to make sure that the register sending data to the Delphi is running TSSB. If not, reboot the register.
  3. Use the OCS Configuration Tool to query the status of the OCS. To do this,
    1. Start the OCS Configuration Tool on the Backoffice computer.
    2. Click on the System Configuration button.
    3. Click on the Status button.
    4. Verify that the software version is correct. If not, get an update.
Delphi Comm
  1. Make sure the proper program is installed on the Backoffice computer.
  2. Make sure that the Software is configured properly
  3. Make sure that the Serial cable between Backoffice computer and Delphi autoswitch is connected as described in the Cabling section.
